TRIP TO GUANGZHOU

Finally, we are making a trip to Guangzhou to visit our relatives!!

On Chinese New Year eve this year, I (and also Ryan) accompanied my parents, my aunt and uncle to Guangzhou, Taishan to visit our "long-lost" relatives.

Since young, we were told that grandfather has a family in China. Great granny always travel to China to visit them. During her trips, she would prepare alot of stuff : food, clothings, medical etc etc. In the early days, she would travel by sea which would take a couple of weeks to reach China.

We met our "San Su", "Xiao Gugu" and their maternal mother whom we called "Xiao Popo" and their family members. The other 3 siblings of my father resides in US and Taiwan. I was told that the youngest uncle is only 3 or 4 years my senior, imagine!

It was really a reunion. The moment we reached 3rd uncle's house, it was talking, talking & talking. About our great-granny, our grandfather and all the historical events that took place 40 over years ago.

We visited the family village house where great granny used to stay and paid a visit to grandfather's tomb. We can imagine how difficult life was during their time.

3rd uncle brought us to alot of places of interest. It was fun and eye-opening for us.

The saying : Blood is thicker than water applies !!
